Last Thursday Kelly's saved me $850 - literally! Initially I'd called the dealer to make an appointment for my Scion's 90,000 mile service, and to ask what that would cost. The dealer's service person listed various things that would need to be replaced and quoted me over $1000. Eventually he came down a little, but I was nevertheless stunned by the amount. I wondered whether all of these things really needed to be done, so I checked online for my car's 90,000 mile service requirements and saw that most items were to be INSPECTED and replaced only if needed. Because Kelly's is a AAA shop, has ASE certified mechanics, and has great reviews, I called them for a quote. David told me they'd need to see the car first because most items would be replaced only if an inspection showed that that was needed. That was consistent with what I'd read should be done, so I brought my car to Kelly's and they did the inspection, and NONE of those things (beyond standard oil change stuff) were needed. Kelly's charged me a grand total of $101 for an oil change, air filter, cabin filter, and windshield wipers. They didn't charge for Rainex. They didn't even charge for the inspection (though my car was on the rack for at least an hour and a half). David explained everything very thoroughly, and the waiting room at Kelly's is really nice. Kelly's has my business from now on!
